Had to choose between a quick patch job or a full reset on a foundered mare
A client's pony in Springfield had a bad founder case, and I had to pick between a temporary foam pad to ease the pain or pulling the shoe and doing a full trim to change the breakover. I went with the full reset, even though it took over an hour and a half. The owner was upset about the extra time and cost, but the pony walked off much better. Has anyone else faced pushback for doing the right, long-term fix instead of the fast option?

Wendys16 nailed it. People just want the quick fix, not the real work.

It's the same reason people get mad when a mechanic says they need a whole new brake system instead of just topping off the fluid. The right fix is almost never the fastest one, and people just want the problem to go away with the least amount of effort or money. You see it everywhere from home repairs to how companies handle customer service. Taking the time to do it properly is a tough sell when everyone's been trained to expect an instant solution.

Trained to expect an instant solution" is the whole problem right there. We want the quick band-aid, not the real fix. Costs more later every single time.
