My 7 day juice fast ended with a trip to the urgent care in Boise

I saw a video saying a juice cleanse would reset my system, so I bought a $200 juicer and only drank veggie juice for a week. By day five, I was so dizzy I couldn't stand up, and my doctor said my blood sugar had crashed. I learned that cutting out all solid food is a terrible idea for your body. Has anyone else had a bad reaction to a cleanse like this?

My cousin in Phoenix tried a three day juice cleanse and passed out at work. These things are basically starvation with extra steps.

Okay but that sounds like a really badly done cleanse (or maybe your cousin had something else going on). A good one uses a ton of veggies, not just fruit sugar, so you're still getting calories and nutrients. The point is supposed to be giving your gut a break from processing solid food, not just starving yourself.

My friend in Austin did a five day green juice plan last month and said her energy was crazy good by day three. The key is using a real service that balances greens and protein powders, not just blending oranges at home. Rowan2, your cousin probably skipped the important veggie base and went straight sugar crash. A proper cleanse is more like a liquid meal plan, it should never make you faint if it's done right.
