I used to think a 10-minute facial massage was just fluff until a client in Phoenix told me it was the only thing that helped her chronic jaw tension.

Now I always incorporate focused myofascial release for at least five minutes, even in basic treatments, so what specific pressure points do you all find most effective for tension relief?

Forget the idea of a set routine for everyone. The real key is asking a simple question before you even start. I always check in with new clients about their pain tolerance and if they have any spots that are extra sensitive. That two minute chat tells me if they need the standard flow or if a few minutes on their temples and jaw would actually help them relax more. Why guess when you can just ask?

Honestly that "focused myofascial release" sounds like overkill for a basic treatment. You're taking one person's good experience and making it a rule for everyone. Most clients just want to relax, not get a mini medical procedure. Spending extra time on pressure points can actually make some people more tense if they're not used to it. I stick to the standard routine because it works fine and doesn't overcomplicate things. Changing your whole approach based on a single comment seems like a big overreaction.

How many clients actually ask for that standard routine, @nina735?

Used to agree with you, but a client explained how the standard routine left her with leftover tension. Trying a few focused minutes actually helped her relax more in the end.
