Rented a tile saw instead of buying one and it paid off big time

I was dead set on buying a $400 wet saw for my kitchen backsplash in Phoenix. Then I rented one from Home Depot for $48 a day and finished the whole job in a weekend. Saved myself a tool I will literally never use again. Has anyone else had luck renting specialty tools over buying them?

Renting is the way to go for stuff like that, especially with something that'll just collect dust in the garage... I've rented post-hole diggers and concrete mixers for weekend projects and it's way cheaper than owning them.

Totally agree, renting saves money and space no contest.
