Finally got my old basement floor sealed after 2 years of it feeling damp

I used a concrete cleaner and a basic sealer from the hardware store, and the difference in how dry it feels down there now is crazy. It only took a weekend to do the whole 400 square foot area. Has anyone else had good luck with a specific brand of sealer holding up over a few winters?

That feeling when a space finally stops being damp is so good. It's like fixing one small thing that's been bugging you for ages, like a dripping faucet or a squeaky door, and it just makes the whole house feel more solid. I swear half of home ownership is just chasing that feeling. Did you notice any change in the basement smell after it dried out?

You nailed it, @elliotpalmer, that solid feeling is the best reward for the work.

Our basement actually got mustier after the dehumidifier, weirdly.
