Hot take: Duct tape actually sucks for most DIY repairs
I used to swear by it for everything until a pipe drip under my sink in Houston last summer. It failed in 2 hours. Switched to self-fusing silicone tape and that same fix held for 8 months. Anybody else find a better all-purpose tape?

Self-fusing silicone tape is the only thing I trust for pipes now too.

Huh, I was the opposite honestly. I used to think duct tape was just a meme and only used it for quick fixes. But that pipe story actually makes a lot of sense, maybe I need to give self-fusing a shot. What’s the brand you grabbed?
