Guy at the hardware store saved me $80 on a pipe fix
I was staring at a cracked PVC pipe under my kitchen sink last Saturday, ready to buy a whole new trap kit for like $40. This older guy named Dave walked by, saw me holding the bag, and just said "hit it with a heat gun, it'll bend right back." I found his trick worked perfectly with just a $12 heat gun from Harbor Freight, and the pipe's been solid for two weeks now. Has anyone else had random strangers at Lowe's or Home Depot give them game-changing advice like that?

Man, my buddy Jerry had some old timer at Home Depot save him from butchering his whole plumbing setup once.

Those older guys in the hardware stores have seen it all, they can spot a disaster before you even grab a wrench. Jerry probably walked in with a plan that would have flooded his whole basement, and that old timer just smiled and set him straight. Makes you wonder how many houses are still standing because of random advice from some retired contractor in the plumbing aisle.
