That $80 tattoo gun from Amazon was a complete disaster

I figured I'd save money and bought a rotary machine kit online for my first home tattoo. The needle kept falling out mid-line and the power supply died after two uses. Anyone else get burned by cheap starter kits like this?

You're not wrong about those cheap kits... they really are a disaster waiting to happen. The needles in those things are usually way too dull to get a clean line anyway, even if they did stay in place. People see the price tag and think they're getting a steal, but you end up spending more on replacement parts and bandages in the long run. It's like buying a dollar store toaster and being surprised when it catches fire.

The part about it being like a dollar store toaster catching fire really hit home. I've seen people try to save twenty bucks and end up with infections that cost them hundreds to fix. The dull needles tear the skin instead of piercing it clean, which just makes the healing process way harder. Plus those cheap machines vibrate so bad you can barely hold them steady for a straight line. It's just not worth the risk to your health or your wallet. Pay a little more upfront or save up for someone who knows what they're doing.
