My $40 smart plug turned my living room into a disco at 3 AM.
I set it up to turn on a lamp at sunrise, but a power flicker reset it to factory default and it started cycling my floor lamp on and off every ten seconds until I unplugged it, so has anyone found a brand that doesn't lose its mind during a brownout?

That factory reset after a power flicker is the worst. I switched to Kasa smart plugs a while back because they hold their settings through short outages. The key is finding ones with a little built in memory that doesn't wipe so easy.

Built in memory sounds good in theory, but honestly any plug can glitch if the power dips hard enough. My Kasa did the same strobe light thing last summer during a storm.
