Question about the push for slow travel
Three years ago in Chiang Mai, I tried staying put for a whole month like everyone said to. Last month in Medellin, I gave it another shot for three weeks. I just felt stuck and missed seeing more places. Last week, moving every five days in Portugal felt way better for my work and mood. Does anyone else find the 'slow travel' advice doesn't fit them?

Notice how the slow travel push lines up with the rise of remote work? It feels less like travel advice and more like a new way to live a normal life somewhere else. Maybe that's why it feels stuck, because you're just doing your regular routine in a new place. What if the real goal is just to move at the speed that makes you feel alive, not follow a trend?

Right? Like they're selling it as the only way to travel. Glad you figured out what works for you, lol.

Ever feel like the travel police are gonna show up if you don't stay somewhere for a month? I did the slow thing in Lisbon and got so bored I started counting tiles on the roof. Switched to moving every few days down the coast and it was like a switch flipped. My brain just likes the change, you know? Guess we all have to find our own speed.
