Dropped $400 on a Snap-on torque wrench and it bit me in the ass

Bought a fancy Snap-on digital torque wrench for about $400 and it crapped out after six months, started reading way off. Took it back to the rep and he said the battery was dead, but the replacement cost was $80. Anyone else stick with a beam style torque wrench instead?

Ha, same thing happened to me with a Craftsman digital torque wrench, never again.

@foster.charles I feel your pain, that Craftsman story makes me wince. You know what my problem is? I'm a sucker for the shiny new tool, but my old beam style torque wrench has never let me down. Guess I should have saved my $400 for something I'd actually use right, like a good set of screwdrivers.
