DEF issues are popping up way more often now.
Idk if it's the new formulations or what, but we're constantly troubleshooting sensors. Maybe it's just me, but it's becoming a regular thing.

Absolutely, my truck's DEF system has been giving constant warnings lately.

Ever notice if it gets worse in super hot or cold weather? My buddy swears his sensor freaks out every summer, but his mechanic says it's just cheap DEF. The guy at the parts store told him to only buy from truck stops, not the jugs sitting on a warehouse shelf. Makes you wonder if storage conditions mess with the fluid before it even goes in the tank. His problems did calm down after he started doing that.

Yeah, the STORAGE conditions can totally ruin DEF before you even use it. My cousin had a similar mess where his truck kept shutting down every few hundred miles. Turns out he was using DEF that sat in his garage all winter, and it went BAD from the temperature swings. Heat and cold really mess with the fluid's quality, just like your buddy's mechanic said. He switched to fresh DEF from a busy truck stop and the problems vanished almost overnight. It's WILD how something so simple can cause so much trouble.
