A weird trick for stuck injectors on a 6.0 Powerstroke

Had a 2005 F-250 in the shop with an injector that wouldn't budge. Tried the usual puller, heat, nothing. Saw an old timer at a meet in Boise years ago mention using a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone as a soak. Let it sit overnight. Next morning, it came out with way less force, maybe 30% of what I expected. Saved me from pulling the head. Anyone else have a go-to penetrating fluid recipe for these stubborn jobs?

Old school trick still works. That ATF and acetone mix is basically magic for stuck parts. I've used it on exhaust manifold bolts that were totally frozen. The acetone gets into the threads fast and the ATF sticks around to keep working. Way better than anything you can buy in a can, and it costs pennies to mix up.

Tried that mix on some brake line fittings last month. Nothing else would touch them. Let it sit overnight and they came right off. The store bought stuff just evaporates too fast to do much good.

My uncle swears by that mix for old tractor parts. He's right there with you and bens81 about it beating the store stuff. I saw a video where they tested it against PB Blaster and it won by a lot.
