Overheard my date ordering for me at a restaurant in Chicago last Friday

I was sitting there dumbfounded when she told the waiter I'd have the salmon, didn't even ask what I wanted. She said she knew what was best because I always pick wrong off menus. Has anyone else's date just steamrolled over your order like that?

Yo that's rough. I had something similar happen last year at a sushi place. She just told the waitress we'd share the spicy tuna roll and the yellowtail. Didn't even look my way. I get wanting to be decisive but it's a weird power move. Ordering for someone without asking is like saying your taste doesn't matter. I would have been fuming if she called my choices wrong too. You handled that better than I would have, I think I'd have just walked out.

Last week my date ordered me a kale salad at a steakhouse in Dallas because she said I looked like I needed to eat cleaner. @james_kim I think she was trying to be helpful but it felt more like she was auditioning to be my mom. Guess I should be grateful she didn't pick my dessert too.
