My nephew convinced me to stop using those free password managers
He showed me how one of the big free ones got hacked in 2022 and exposed millions of user vaults. After that I finally paid the $40 a year for a proper service with local encryption.

$40 a year is nothing compared to what you might lose if that free service gets popped again... the real issue is those free ones make money by selling your data or having weak security.

Guess those free services are like dollar store security - you get what you pay for until you lose everything.
