I trusted a fitness app with my location data.

It sold my home address to third parties without telling me.

Seriously, is this such a huge problem? Lots of apps share your data, it's in their terms. You probably clicked agree without reading. Your home address isn't some big secret anymore. Data brokers have it from a dozen other places. It's shady but not exactly surprising.

Saw your post while scrolling on my break, Brooke. You're right that it happens all the time and we just click agree. That's what makes it so messed up. It still feels like a real violation when it's your home address getting passed around. Makes me feel exposed, even if the data is out there already. Just because it's common doesn't mean we should be okay with it. The whole thing leaves me with this gross, uneasy feeling.

Admit I used to brush it off like Brooke, saying everyone does it so who cares. Your post made me realize it's different when it's your own address out there. That uneasy feeling you get, it's like your privacy is being slowly chipped away. What do you do to feel safe after something like this happens?
