My local diner's pancakes shrank after they switched to a new griddle, and I'm the only one who noticed

I mean, they used to be this thick fluffy stack that hung over the plate edge, but since last month after they got that shiny new flat-top, they're like half the size and honestly I think the old one made them better, anyone else notice a place change something small and just pretend it didn't happen?

Wow, that sucks. Honestly, I had the same thing happen at my old coffee shop when they swapped out their beat-up espresso machine. The shots started pulling way more bitter and the crema got thin, but everyone else just kept ordering like nothing changed. I ended up switching to the place two blocks over for a few weeks, and when I came back, they had adjusted the grind and it was decent again. Maybe give the diner a month and see if their cook figures out the heat settings, sometimes it just takes them a while to break in new equipment.
