That $60 password manager subscription saved me from a real nasty mess
I paid for a year of Bitwarden mostly because I was tired of clicking "forgot password" every single time. Last Tuesday I got a notification that someone tried logging into my Steam account from Russia. The password manager had randomly generated a 20 character beast for that account so they didn't get in. My old habit was using the same password for like everything lol. I spent way more time changing passwords on my banking and email than I want to admit. Has anyone else had their password manager catch something like that before?

Read something similar on a tech forum where a guy said his password manager flagged a login from China while he was sleeping. That 20 character random password is the real deal huh. My brother got hit with a phishing email and his password manager wouldn't autofill because the link looked wrong, saved him from giving up his bank login.

I mean, that "saved him from giving up his bank login" thing could've been a false alarm too. Password managers get stuff wrong sometimes, like when they won't autofill on a legit site that's just updated their login page. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have my brother actually look at the email himself instead of letting a program decide what's safe or not.
