That one critique about my dialogue made me rewrite everything
A beta reader on my forum thread told me all my characters sound the same, like they're all just me with different haircuts. I spent 3 days going through my 40 page story and giving each person a verbal tic or a specific way they dodge questions. Has anyone else gotten a piece of feedback that completely reshaped how you write conversations?

Did you give them different speech patterns or just different words?
