Got destroyed at a prompt workshop in Portland and I'm still annoyed about one guy's advice
Went to a small writing meetup at a café in Portland about 3 months ago, maybe 12 people there. We did a prompt where you had 10 minutes to write a scene with no dialogue, and the guy running it read mine out loud. He said my character had "no interior life" and that I should write a full page for every prompt instead of finishing it. I've done 200+ prompts since then and I still think about that comment almost every time I sit down. My whole thing is fast, messy first drafts, and now I'm second guessing every one. Do you all do the full page thing or just get words on paper and move on?
