Used to blast classic rock in the car until my teenager called me out last summer

I always maxed out Led Zeppelin on the highway, windows down, feeling 25 again. Then my kid looked me dead in the eye and said 'dad this sounds like elevator noise' so now I'm stuck playing 2000s pop punk at full volume to prove I'm still cool. Which side do you lean on when someone judges your go-to loud song?

Oh man, I'm gonna be that guy and say your kid might have a point with some of that classic rock stuff. I used to be all about AC/DC until I actually listened to the lyrics on a long drive and realized half of it is the same riff looped for four minutes. Pop punk at least has some energy and hooks that hit harder at a stoplight, if I'm being brutally honest.

A buddy of mine used to swear by Led Zeppelin, said it was real music. He drove his son to school every day and the kid would beg for Green Day instead. One morning he finally gave in, just to shut him up. After about three weeks of that, he admitted to me that he actually started humming the choruses at work. Now he secretly listens to pop punk on his own time.
