That guy's comment about bass in traffic made me rethink my whole playlist

I was stuck on I-5 for like 40 minutes last Thursday and this dude in a beat-up Civic pulls up next to me, windows down, and yells 'turn it down so the kick can breathe!' at my subwoofer setup. He was totally right though, I had the gain cranked so hard the low end was just mush instead of that clean thump. Has anyone else had a stranger's car audio take actually fix how you set your EQ for daily driving?
