I finally found my drive home song after a brutal 60 hour week
Last Friday I worked a double shift then got called back in for an emergency inventory count, three days straight with maybe 6 hours of sleep total. On the way home at 2 AM I put on this old punk track my brother burned me 10 years ago, and for the first time all week I actually felt something other than exhaustion. I cranked it to max, windows down, and screamed along to every word while sitting at a red light on 5th and Main. Some guy in a pickup next to me was laughing and gave me a thumbs up, which just made me turn it louder. Anyone else have that one song that somehow resets your brain after a garbage stretch? I need a backup for when I eventually wear this one out.

Stop calling it a "reset song" because that makes it sound like some kind of tool you use on purpose. That track isn't a reset, it's a punch in the gut that reminds you you're still alive after the week tried to kill you. The difference matters because if you treat it like a button you press, you'll start picking songs that are just catchy instead of ones that actually match your raw mood. That 2 AM red light moment wasn't about the music itself, it was about the whole thing coming together at once. Your backup should be something with the same angry energy, not a different genre that sort of similar. Find a track that makes you want to yell at the steering wheel, that's the real test.
