City's new crane start time rule is messing up our jobs

I'm fed up with this new rule in my city. We can't begin crane work until 7 AM, and it's throwing everything off. On my current site, we need to lift heavy beams early to avoid afternoon winds. Now, we're stuck waiting, and the whole day gets pushed back. Last Tuesday, we had to cancel a lift because the wind picked up by the time we could start. It's not just annoying; it's a safety issue. I wish the city would listen to us operators. Have you dealt with something like this in your area?

Hear about your canceled lift due to wind? That is INSANE and so unsafe. Forcing cranes to start at 7 AM when afternoon winds are a known risk is just asking for accidents. It totally ignores the real dangers operators face every day. Even @henry_west with his 6 AM alarm might see that this rule is missing the point. City planners need to talk to crews before making rules that hurt safety. This kind of thing could lead to serious trouble if it doesn't change fast.

My alarm clock fights me every morning at 6, so maybe your cranes and I have the same problem.

Feel that deep in my bones. Nothing easy about leaving a warm bed that early.
