Shoutout to the stylist at Salon 214 in Portland who let me watch her balayage
I was waiting on my 2 o'clock color client last Tuesday and overheard a newer stylist at the next station tell her client she was nervous about her first balayage, so I offered to stand nearby and walk her through the sectioning. She texted me that night saying the client rebooked for 8 weeks out and left a 20 percent tip. I've been doing hair for 6 years and honestly that little moment reminded me why I still like this job. Has anyone else had a moment where helping a newer stylist made you feel better about your own work?
