A client told me her last stylist charged $200 and used box dye, so I checked the bathroom
She sat in my chair at the salon in Portland and swore the color faded in 10 days flat. She wasn't lying, there was an empty box of dye under her sink with a receipt taped to it, and she still paid full price. How do you bring that up with a client without calling her old stylist a crook?
Did she ever say anything to the old stylist about it? That's the part that gets me. People pay good money and then just quietly deal with the fallout, and the next person in the chair has to be the one who breaks the news. You're not calling anyone a crook, you're just saying hey, I found proof that what you paid for isn't what you got. That's doing her a favor, honestly. If it were me I'd want to know so I never went back to that person again.
