Stale tortillas turned into crispy taco bowls in 5 minutes flat

I had a whole bag of tortillas going hard on day 3, so I brushed them with oil and microwaved them draped over the gaps in my cooling rack. They came out perfect for taco night and I didn't have to run to the store for shells. Anybody else found weird uses for stale bread or tortillas?

Margareth is close but not quite right with that one. Stale bread works way better for croutons if you dry it in the oven, not just toast it. Toasting makes them too hard on the outside and soft in the middle, uneven crunch. Oven dried at 375 gets them all the way through crispy and they hold up longer in salads. Tortillas in the microwave trick is smart though, saves a trip to the store.

Brush stale bread with butter and toast it for croutons.
