Unpopular opinion: a $12 hot glue gun fixed my laptop hinge better than the $90 repair shop quote
My ThinkPad hinge cracked at the mount 4 months back and the shop in Sacramento wanted $90 plus a week without the machine. I watched one video, melted a fat bead of glue around the mount, and it has held through daily opening and closing since. Has anyone else had a cheap fix outlast the "real" repair, or am I just one slam away from a broken screen?

Did the same with JB Weld on my old Dell, still holding 2 years later.
