Vent: That $200 'emergency food bucket' I bought from a prepper website

I got into the whole conspiracy rabbit hole about supply chain collapse and spent $200 on this 72 hour emergency food bucket from a survivalist site... turns out it's just freeze dried ice cream packets and pasta that tastes like cardboard. I opened it last week to test one meal and the 'chicken teriyaki' was basically mush with a weird smell. Total scam for what you get. Anyone else get burned by those prepper kits that promise survival but deliver disappointment?

Got the same thing a few years back. I was always the guy who swore those prepper sites had the real deal, you know, the good stuff for when things go bad. I bought one of those big buckets with the 30 year shelf life, all hype. Opened it up to test the "beef stew" and it was basically salty colored water with some spongey chunks. Felt like such a sucker. Now I just grab extra cans of regular soup and chili from the store when they're on sale. Way cheaper and actually tastes like food when you heat it up. Those prepper kits are just marketing magic, not real survival gear.

Ditch those prepper websites entirely. They bank on fear and sell you overpriced garbage. Go to a regular grocery store and buy actual canned goods. Beans, rice, canned chicken, that stuff lasts years and tastes way better. Rotate your stock by eating it and replacing it. Spend your money on a good water filter instead. That'll save you way more in the long run.
