Poured a patio last week and picked a light broom finish over exposed aggregate
The homeowner wanted that smooth pebble look but I talked them into a light broom for $200 less and it came out looking clean as hell, anyone else find broom finishes way more forgiving on hot days?

Did a buddy of mine try exposed aggregate on his walkway last summer? Came out looking like a mess, patchy in spots where the rocks didn't set right, and he was out there with a hose all day trying to wash off the top layer. Broom finish is just way more predictable, especially when the temps spike and you're racing the sun. Sounds like you saved them money and got a better result, that's a win.

Racing the sun" is a little dramatic, it's concrete not a movie chase scene.
