Had to pick between fiber mesh and wire mesh for a 40 yard driveway pour last week

I went with fiber mesh because the supplier said it was faster and the crew was pushing to beat the rain. Three days later I already see a few hairline cracks near the edge. What do you guys use for long driveways?

Jump right in and swap that fiber for proper wire mesh next time. I did a 50 footer last summer and did half and half just to see what would happen. The fiber side already has these tiny spider cracks near the edges by the garage apron while the wire side is still smooth as glass. Fiber is great for controlling plastic shrinkage cracks while it's setting up but it doesn't do a damn thing once the concrete actually moves or settles. For a long driveway like that you need the wire to hold the whole slab together when the ground shifts underneath it.

That 50 foot driveway of yours @leo612 is holding up fine, so maybe you're making this out to be a bigger deal than it actually is.
