Dropped $180 on a magnesium float last month and I think it was money well spent

I was doing a 30x40 garage slab in Phoenix last month and my old wood float was leaving ridges everywhere in the heat. Bought a 4 foot magnesium float for around $180 and the finish came out way flatter with half the passes. Anyone else swear by mag floats or do you still run wood no matter what?
