Shoutout to the $9 USB rubber ducky that saved my Tuesday at a client's office in Reno
A dental office in Reno called me because their front desk PC kept pulling up weird browser tabs, and their AV scans came back clean every time so nobody could figure it out. On a hunch I plugged in a cheap $9 USB rubber ducky I keep in my bag, and within 10 seconds it typed a script that showed a hidden startup task nobody had caught. Turned out a temp worker's 'free PDF converter' from who knows where had dropped it there, and my normal scan tools were just blind to it. Took me 20 minutes total to find it, kill the task, and lock the machine down. Curious what you all use for quick keystroke injection tests, or do you just dig through startup folders by hand every time?
