PSA: My brother wanted me to unlock his ex's computer for him
My brother asked me to break into his ex's old laptop so he could get some files. I said no because it felt wrong, but he kept pushing since he owned it before. How do you deal with family or clients who ask for stuff that seems shady?

Yikes, that reminds me of when my buddy asked me to recover his ex's deleted photos (seriously?). I just said no way and told him to move on.

@parkerthompson, that line about recovering deleted photos really hits home. Good for you for saying no way, that was the right call. It's a creepy thing to ask and a total invasion of privacy. People need to learn that once a relationship ends, you have to let that stuff go. Your buddy was way out of line even asking. You did him a favor by telling him to move on, even if he didn't want to hear it.
