Multimeter voltage test caught a simple wiring fault

A client's PC wouldn't boot, so I thought the power supply was bad. I used a multimeter to check the 24-pin connector voltages. Noticed a loose wire that wasn't making contact. After resoldering it, the PC worked fine. Testing with a multimeter can save you from replacing good parts.

Why not just fix the real problem first?

Gotta love the "just swap parts" method. I mean sure, you could just start throwing money at the problem, but then you end up with a box of three working power supplies and a mystery. The meter takes two minutes, idk maybe it's just me but I like knowing what actually broke.

Nice save, but honestly that sounds like a lot of work for a maybe. I'd have just swapped in a known good power supply first. If the PC boots, you know the old one is bad without poking around with a meter.
