Hit 1,000 logged dives in the Gulf last week, felt like a weird milestone

I was logging dives for my supervisor's records and my count hit exactly 1,000, all of them out of Port Fourchon. That number felt big because it meant over 2,100 hours of bottom time, mostly on pipe jobs and platform inspections. I remember my first 10 dives I was terrified about my mask flooding, now it's second nature. Has anyone else had a milestone that snuck up on them, like a dive count or depth total, that made you stop and think about how far you've come?

Huh, I get the milestone part, but I've always seen dive logs as just numbers for insurance and job history, not something to feel nostalgic about. That 1,000 could just as easily mean 1,000 days of cold water and bad coffee.
