I finally helped out with the comics fan garden cleanup

In my experience, comics fans in my town are really into community stuff. Last Saturday, I found out about a group that tidies up the park while dressed as their favorite characters. They pick up trash and plant flowers, all while chatting about new comic releases. It was neat to see how a shared hobby can lead to such a positive change. Your mileage may vary, but I think it shows fans care about more than just stories. Take this with a grain of salt, but I plan to join them again next month. I learned that small actions can make a big difference, thanks to these dedicated fans.

Love seeing fandom turn into real world good. My local Star Wars group does a beach cleanup every year in costume. Shows how hobbies can build community while helping out.

Galaxy Con's beach event last year had more litter left behind than collected... sad but true.

I used to assume comic fans just wanted to talk about panels all day, but joining that cleanup shifted my perspective. I mean, watching people in full costume weed flower beds while debating new releases was wild. @the_logan mentioning the Star Wars beach cleanups fits right in, showing how hobbies spark actual good. Maybe it's just me, but I finally get how these groups build more than just fan theories.
