Old-school touch probes vs. new laser probes, is the accuracy gap real or just hype?

I ran the same 50-part batch on a 2020 Haas with a laser probe and a 1998 Mori with a Renishaw touch probe, and the laser's repeatability was only 0.0002" better, but it took half the cycle time, so which one actually matters more when you're chasing tolerances for a mold shop in Ohio?
