Spent 7 weeks trying to get my apartment building to start composting, here is what finally worked
I live in a 40 unit building in Minneapolis and our trash bills kept going up because food scraps were filling the dumpster. I figured getting a compost bin would be easy, but it took 7 weeks of emails, one failed vote at the building meeting, and a call to the city's recycling office before we got a shared bin in the alley. The thing that finally pushed it through was showing the landlord the math: we cut trash pickup from twice a week to once, saving about $180 a month. Now 12 units use it and I am trying to get the other 28 on board. Has anyone gotten a landlord to say yes to something like this, and what argument worked for you?
