Lost $200 on that fancy aeroponic system for my apartment
I spent $200 on a countertop aeroponic setup from GreenFarm last spring, but the pump failed after 3 months and they wouldn't replace it. Anyone else get burned by these indoor garden gadgets and find a reliable alternative?

Oh man, hard disagree here. Honestly, I think you just got a bad unit or maybe didn't set it up right. Those aeroponic systems are actually solid if you do the maintenance. Clean the pump every few weeks, make sure the water level is right, and they run forever. Tbh, most people hook them up and forget about them, then blame the product when stuff clogs up. Ngl, I've had my AeroGarden for over a year with zero issues, and I've seen plenty of others say the same online. Maybe try a different brand if you're still burned, but don't write off the whole idea. Good luck with whatever you pick next.

My GreenFarm unit did the exact same thing. Pump died after maybe 4 months and they told me it was "normal wear and tear." I opened it up and found the impeller was completely clogged with mineral deposits even though I used filtered water. Their customer service was useless, just kept sending me links to buy a replacement pump for $40. I switched to a Kratky method setup with some storage bins and net cups, and honestly its been way less headache for like $50 total. No moving parts to break.
