Bought a $60 rain barrel, it paid for itself in 2 months

I put it under the downspout in my backyard to water the tomato beds instead of using the hose. The water bill dropped $28 a month and I didn't touch the tap once since June. Anyone else tried this with a smaller setup, or is the yield too low for bigger gardens?

Paid for itself in 2 months" only works if your city charges you for stormwater runoff, most don't. Most people are just paying the same flat sewer fee no matter how much they water, so that $28 drop is probably from something else, like a leaky toilet or cooler weather.
