Wrote off those creosote logs as a gimmick for 6 seasons, then a sweep in Albany showed me his brush
I figured the $18 creosote sweeping logs were just a fire hazard dressed up as a shortcut, so I never touched them in six seasons of work. A sweep in Albany pulled one out of his van and ran it on a stove pipe with 3/8 inch of glazed buildup, and the stuff flaked off like dried paint the next morning. Am I the last guy on here still doing it the hard way with a whip and a scraper, or does everyone keep a case of these in the truck now?
