Hit my 1000th flue cleaning today and it felt weird

I was doing a regular job over on Maple Street and my helper mentioned it was my thousandth cleaning since I started tracking. I didn't feel any different or special, just dirty and tired like normal. But now I'm thinking about all the creosote I've scraped out over the years and it kind of hits you. Has anyone else hit a milestone like that and not realized it until later?

Wait does the number really matter? It's just scraping the same gunk out of the same pipes over and over. You'd probably get the same feeling at 999 or 1001 if you stopped to think about it that hard.

Oh, totally. I hit 1000 the other day and honestly felt nothing special, but I remember freaking out when I got to 69 or 420 like it was some big deal. It's this weird mental thing where the number itself becomes the focus instead of just doing the same old scrubbing. I think the real satisfaction is just getting through a hard blockage, not the count on the screen.
