Hot take: The high-end immersion blender I bought is not worth the hype

I dropped $280 on a fancy commercial immersion blender last month, thinking it would change my soup game forever. But honestly, after running it for three straight days on a batch of butternut squash soup, the seal started leaking and now I got oil emulsifying into my stock. I had to stop mid-service and dig out the old $50 unit from the back closet, which still works fine after five years of abuse. The new one is supposed to be 'professional grade' but it failed faster than my cheap backup ever did. I rigged a temporary fix with a rubber band and plastic wrap just to finish the dinner rush, but the leak is back today. Anyone else have a pricey tool that let them down hard like this?

Totally. My first one was exactly the same way.
