My $6 thrift store Scrabble set turned game night from boring to brutal in 3 weeks
We played every Friday since New Year's and started keeping a running score sheet on the fridge, and now my roommate studies the two letter word list like it's a final exam. Anyone got a cheap two player game that won't make us hate each other by spring?
Ha, good luck with that. Scrabble brings out the worst in people and two player games always turn into a grudge match.
If you want something cheap that won't end the friendship, grab a copy of Lost Cities or Jaipur. Both are under 25 bucks, play in 30 minutes, and you're not sitting there screaming about whether "qi" is a real word. Carcassonne is another good one if you want a bit more meat to it, easy to learn and you can play nice or stab each other in the back depending on your mood.
My advice though, keep the Scrabble out of reach on game night. That score sheet on the fridge is how wars start.
