Free museum day beat my $40 escape room last Saturday

I dragged my wife to the art museum's free first Saturday and we spent 3 hours there, but the escape room we did the week before felt rushed and over in 45 minutes, so what's actually worth your time when you're trying to stretch a date night?

And here I thought dropping $80 on a locked room with a fake skeleton was peak romance. Turns out staring at a 400 year old painting of fruit while my wife whispers "is that a pear or a metaphor" is the real bonding experience. Plus nobody charges you extra when you accidentally touch the velvet rope. Escape room gave us one puzzle box that broke and a guy named Todd who kept checking his watch. Museum gave us a mummy and a snack bar with surprisingly decent pretzels. I'll take free and slightly educational over overpriced and mildly stressful any day.
