Found out my local library lets you borrow museum passes, blew my mind

I almost paid $30 for two tickets to the science center last week until the clerk at the front desk mentioned their free pass program, so has anyone else checked what your branch actually offers besides books?

and dont sleep on the interlibrary loan system either, you can get way more obscure stuff shipped to your branch for free than people realize. that pass program is just the tip of the iceberg honestly.

wait people actually sleep on ILL until they need some random out of print thing and suddenly its the best kept secret in the library world. @david_rivera4 is right that pass program gets all the hype but ILL is the real flex. i once got a zine from a tiny press in oregon shipped to my local branch in like two weeks, zero cost. plus the librarians love it when you ask, they get to show off their detective skills tracking stuff down. honestly everyone should just annoy their local library with a weird request at least once, its worth it just for the look on their face when the package finally arrives.
