Finally nailed a free date idea after 6 failed attempts

Honestly, trying to find a free date that doesn't feel lame took way longer than it should have. I kept defaulting to walks or coffee, but last month in Austin I hit on geocaching with my girlfriend. We spent 3 hours hunting down 4 caches near the river, and it felt like a real adventure, not a cheap cop-out. Anyone else have a low-cost activity that actually clicked after a few duds?

Geocaching is genius, I heard about it from a coworker who does it with his kids. We tried it once in a park and it was way more fun than I expected, even when the GPS led us to a random bush for ten minutes. Might have to steal this for our next date night.
