Warning: the cook at my local diner said my $7 breakfast order was costing him money, so I changed one thing
He told me last month at the counter in Tulsa that ringing up a side of extra bacon for free was killing his food cost, so now I just pay the $1.50 instead of asking for it, and honestly the plate still comes out under $9 with coffee, but I am curious if anyone else has had a cheap spot push back on free add-ons like that.
