Shoutout to the old guy who showed me a seam trick with a heat gun
Everyone in my crew says you should never use a heat gun on a seam, but I had a job in a Denver condo where the carpet kept puckering after three tries. I tried a low setting and a putty knife to warm the glue, and it laid flat for good. Has anyone else found a safe way to use heat on a tricky seam?

Never use a heat gun," they say. What do they think happens when the glue gets warm from the backing anyway?

My boss in Phoenix would fire me on the spot for this. But I've used a heat gun on a seam exactly twice when nothing else worked, and both times it was fine. Guess I'm just a rebel with a putty knife.
